Purpose

This multi-Service tactics, techniques, and procedures (MTTP) publication for personnel recovery (PR) is a single source, descriptive reference guide for staffs and planners executing the military option of personnel recovery using joint capabilities.

Scope

This MTTP publication addresses specific PR options, capabilities, and methods.  It details the military option for recovering isolated personnel using conventional joint capabilities. The MTTP focuses on integrating conventional, tactical PR elements. This publication outlines PR planning and execution tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) common to all Services, identifies Service commonalities and differences, identifies PR forces' capabilities and limitations, details TTP specific to PR methods, outlines individuals' roles and responsibilities, and provides checklists designed for quick reference. This MTTP publication applies to all commanders and their staffs who plan, execute, and assess PR operations in support of tactical operations.

This book is a "mini" (half the size of a regular sheet of paper) size - A popular size to carry anywhere (briefcase, large pocket, purse) but the print is large enough for easy reading.  The binding is with coil, allowing easy flipping of pages without jamming.
