KILL BOX
Multi-Service Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (MTTP) for Kill Box Planning and Employment establishes tactics, techniques, and procedures for the application of kill boxes as three-dimensional areas. Kill boxes are used to facilitate integrating joint fires as a permissive fire support coordination measure, in accordance with joint publication 3-09, Joint Fire Support. This publication offers a detailed explanation of kill box employment; provides information to effectively organize, plan, and execute kill box procedures; and standardizes kill box terminology.
- Purpose
This multi-Service tactics, techniques, and procedures (MTTP) publication is a single source for planning and employing kill boxes. It is a descriptive reference guide to enable planners and warfighters to establish and control operations within kill boxes at the operational and tactical levels of warfighting. It is designed to facilitate expeditious air-to-surface lethal target attacks, which may be augmented by, or integrated with, subsurface and surface-to-surface indirect fires.
- Applicability
This MTTP publication applies to all commanders and their staffs that participate in operations involving kill boxes. The target audience includes commanders; Service component operations, planning, and intelligence sections; Service main subordinate elements; their counterparts on the joint force commander's staff; fires planners at all echelons; and individual operators and aircrew.
This book is a "mini" (half the size of a regular piece of paper) size - A popular size to carry anywhere (briefcase, large pocket, purse) but the print is large enough for easy reading. Coil binding is used to allow for easy page flipping with no binding.
