1-1. GENERAL.

a. Mission. The mission of the U.S. Army Special Opera­tions Command (USASOC) is to plan and conduct special militaryoperations in worldwide support of U.S. policy and objectives.In order to achieve and maintain combat readiness, every indivi­dual engaged in or supporting USASOC Airborne (ABN) Operationsmust become and remain familiar with all aspects of this regula­tion. The guidance contained herein is promulgated under autho­rity of AR 25-30, The Army Publishing Program, 27 Mar 06.

b. Purpose. This document establishes Standing OperatingProcedures (SOP), Command Regulatory Guidance, Requirements, andPolicy for the conduct of ABN Operations by units within USASOC.

c. Scope. The policies and procedures established hereingovern all units assigned to, attached to, or conducting ABNOperations under the authority of the USASOC.
