History. This publication is a new Department of the Army regulation.

Summary. This regulation prescribes policy for unique Army pay and allowances for the payment of Soldiers using Department of Defense Joint Military Pay System–Active Component.

Applicability. This regulation applies to the Regular Army, the Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve

This new Department of the Army regulation:

• Adds respnsibilities for Sldiers regarding persnal financial affairs
• Outlines twice-a-month pay policy
• Prescribes the use f SF 1199A (Direct Depsit Sign-Up Frm) .

• Establishes and prescribes DA Frm 1506–1 (Statement of Service for Computation and Length of Service for Pay Purposes 

• Establishes and prescribes DA Frm 7895 (Military Payroll System Substantiating Document Wrksheet).

• Establishes and prescribes DA Form 7894 (Declaration of Retired Pay Benefits Received and Waivers) (para 5–2).

• Updates the title of DA Frm 4730 (Certificate for Non-Performance of Hazardus Duty) (para 10–6k and app A).

• Updates policy for diver skill incentive pay .
•  Updates policy for payment of death gratuity
• Updates policy for pay and allowance continuation program
• Updates policies for savings prgroams (chap 18).
• Incorporates relevant policies of AR 37–104–4.

• Defines Army-unique military pay policy for entitlements, allotments, and deductions outlined in the DOD Financial Management Regulation (throughout).

o Updates policy for special pay sea duty .

o Removes references to and cancels DA Form 3685 (JUMPS–JSS Pay Elections) .

This book is a "mini" (half the size of a regular piece of paper) size - A popular size to carry anywhere (briefcase, large pocket, purse) but the print is large enough for easy reading. Coil binding is used to allow for easy page flipping with no binding.
