Dated 18 July 2019
TC 3-22.84 describes the principles of proper weapons handling, tactical applications, and control measures for employing the M3 Multi-role, Anti-armor, Anti-personnel Weapon System (MAAWS). The gunner is responsible for placing accurate and effective rounds on threat targets with the weapon. To do this each Soldier must understand the functional elements of the shot process, the principles of operation of the weapon, the characteristics and description of ballistics and ammunition, and the various engagement techniques essential to building the Soldier’s proficiency with their weapon system. The combination of knowledge and practice builds and sustains the skills to achieve accurate and consistent precise shots during combat operations.
TC 3-22.84 applies to the Active Army, Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States and United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated.
