- Purpose
This multi-Service tactics, techniques, and procedures (MTTP) publication for tactical convoy operations (TCO) is a single source, descriptive reference guide for convoy commanders and subordinates to plan, train, and conduct TCO, primarily considering forces engaged in the sustainment warfighting function.
Multi-Service Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (MTTP) for Tactical Convoy Operations establishes tactics, techniques, and procedures to provide convoy commanders a guide for training, planning, and executing convoy operations in a tactical environment.
- Scope
This MTTP publication addresses troop leading procedures; checklists; terminology; security vehicle employment; improvised explosive devices information; battle drills; convoy training exercises; and live-fire programs of instruction. It incorporates lessons learned from combat operations and training, and bridges gaps in Service convoy doctrine and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP). Convoy commanders should supplement the information provided in this publication with the latest theater-specific information regarding local operational conditions and guidance.
- Applicability
This MTTP publication applies to all commanders and their staffs. However, the primary target audience is convoy commanders engaged in sustainment operations requiring tactical convoy operations in threat environments
